Dry Cabbage with Peas

Dry Cabbage with Peas :


(All ingredients are underlined)

Take 2 cups of cabbage finely cut into log and thin slices.  Cover and cook 1/2 cup green peas for 3 minutes in a microwave. Heat 2 tsp oil in a pan and add 1/2 tsp mustard seeds. Wait till they crackle and then add a pinch of asfoetida (hing), 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, and 2 vertically slit green chilies. Add the chopped cabbage and mix well. Reduce the gas to low and cover to cook for 5 minutes. Add the green peas and cover again to cook till the cabbage is soft. Add salt to taste, 1/2 tsp sugar, 1/4 tsp coriander powder, and 1/4 tsp cumin powder. Let cook uncovered for a minute and turn off the gas. Serve with roti/chapati.
